Alan T. Brown to Launch Namesake “Power of We Campaign” to Benefit Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation at Passion Nightclub in Seminole Paradise on Oct. 13

Alan T. Brown will launch his namesake Power of We Campaign to benefit the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation at 7 p.m. on October 13, 2012 at Passion Nightclub in Seminole Paradise at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Entitled, 25 Years of Rock and Rollin’, the special event will feature an evening of entertainment with a special appearance by the Sugarhill Gang, gourmet food from Martorano’s Italian-American Kitchen,  cocktails courtesy of Bacardi and a raffle with proceeds supporting the Reeve Foundation’s mission to provide today’s care and tomorrow’s cure for individuals living with paralysis.

According to a study initiated by the Reeve Foundation, there are nearly 1 in 50 people living with paralysis – approximately 5.6 million people – in the United States. Of those, 1.275 million are living with spinal cord injury.

January 2, 2013 will mark the 25th anniversary of Brown’s own spinal cord injury.

Since that time, Brown has made it his life’s commitment to raise awareness and critical funds for individuals in need. The 25 Years of Rock and Rollin’ event will bring together all of the people who have been touched by Brown during his quarter century of living with paralysis.

“I’m very excited to be kicking off my ‘Power of We Campaign’ to support the great programs of the Reeve Foundation, which will culminate in New York City,” said Brown who serves as the director of public impact for the Reeve Foundation. “Our goal is to raise a minimum of $250,000, representing $10,000 for every year that I’ve lived with paralysis.”

Tickets are $150 per person or, $250 per couple. Sponsorships are also available at $10,000.
