Miami Beach Community Health Center (MBCHC) and The NAMES Project Foundation-AIDS Memorial Quilt will join together to present a special AIDS Memorial Quilt Opening ceremony. This symbolic event will portray the impact that HIV/AIDS has had on the lives of so many here and abroad.
During the Quilt Ceremony, hundreds of names of those who have been lost to HIV/AIDS will be read aloud by local community leaders and medical professionals involved with or supportive of area AIDS care providers. At the same time, sections of the Quilt are opened and “laid to rest” for attendees to view. Miami Beach Community Health Center will also observe a moment of silence throughout the health care facility.
