Rural Ireland. 1981. Nine-year-old Cait is sent away from her overcrowded, dysfunctional family to live with foster parents for the summer. She blossoms in their care, but in this house where there are meant to be no secrets, she discovers one painful truth.

The Quiet Girl is the highest-grossing Irish language film of all time and one of the most critically and commercially successful Irish films in recent years. It was Ireland’s entry for the Best International Feature category at the 95th Academy Awards, eventually earning the nomination.

“Few films explore both the shelter and the solitude of silence with the eloquence of Colm Bairéad’s gently captivating drama.” —David Rooney, The Hollywood Reporter

Pink Floyd- The Wall

Sat. 3/25 at 9:00 pm

After Hours

In a surreal blending of memory and animation, a rock megastar comes to grips with the psychological defenses he has built around himself, a mental structure constructed over a lifetime of pain that has become his prison. Based on the seminal rock album The Wall by Pink Floyd.

A singular cult classic, Pink Floyd – The Wall is an anthem against non-conformity and institutional corruption that still speaks to us 40 years later. Playing at Gables Cinema to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Pink Floyd’s historic album The Dark Side of the Moon.

“A bold, relentless visualization…without question the best of all serious fiction films devoted to rock.” —Roger Ebert
