Restore, Represent, Reenact, Re-Perform: Live Art in the Era of Endless Replay

Groundbreaking Cuban-American interdisciplinary artist, scholar, and critic Coco Fusco will discuss her recent work, including her 2012 media installation And the Sea Will Talk to You, as well as current trends in contemporary performance art. Fusco is the 2013 Visiting Master Artist in the Department of Art and Art History at Florida International University. She was honored with a 2013 Absolut Art Award for her writing and is the recipient of a 2013 Guggenheim Fellowship, a 2013 Fulbright Fellowship, and a 2012 US Artists Fellowship.

Presented by FIU College of Architecture + The Arts with support by The Wolfsonian-FIU, FIU College of Architecture + The Arts, FIU Women’s Studies and FIU Cuban Research Institute.
