A Midcentury Modern Atlas

A Midcentury Modern Atlas
On-site | Saturday, November 19 @ 4:30–6pm

In the decades after its publication in 1953, Herbert Bayer’s World Geo-Graphic Atlas—a compendium of data visualizations—reshaped the design field and gave rise to the art of infographics. Art historian and author Ben Benus takes us through Bayer’s compelling, complex designs in this talk inspired by modernist maps displayed in our current exhibition, Plotting Power.

Free; held at 1001 Washington Avenue and sponsored by the Humanities Edge. A brief reception at 4:30pm precedes the 5pm talk.
