On Wednesday, February 2, 2011 Sheriff Al Lamberti of the Broward County Sheriff’s Office; Gale Butler, Vice President of Corporate Affairs of AutoNation; and Mark Patterson of the Ft. Lauderdale Mustang Club, presented Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center (CDTC) with a check for $6,000 to benefit children with chronic illnesses and developmental disabilities. Part of the donation came directly from proceeds generated at the 3rd Annual Open Car, Truck, and Motorcycle Show for Kids hosted by BSO, Maroone Ford, and the Ft. Lauderdale Mustang Club in October. These proceeds were generously matched by AutoNation to benefit the Center and its programs. The car show was very well attended and was the most successful in raising funds to date. The show also included numerous raffle baskets, a DJ playing music all morning, face painting and a bounce house. One lucky client family from CDTC was able to attend and greatly enjoyed the day long festivities.
Plans are currently underway for this year’s car show to be held on October 26, 2011. Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center was once again selected as the beneficiary.
“We are very grateful for the outpouring of support from our friends at Maroone/AutoNation, BSO and the Ft. Lauderdale Mustang Club,” said Dr. Ana Calderon, Assistant Administrator of CDTC.
