Arts Ballet at the new Aventura Arts and Cultural Center

Local and awarded Artistic Director, Vladimir Issaev has brought the most outstanding staff directly from the Vaganova Ballet Academy in Saint Petersburg Russia, (Formerly Kirov) to train the most talented, serious and promising ballet students of Aventura, North Miami Beach and its surroundings, as well as other areas of Miami Dade and Broward Counties as well as students from across the US, Mexico, Peru and Brazil, to complete a four week program which provides dancers with world-class instruction. Exceptional local teachers in the disciplines of Modern, Flamenco, Pilates and Music complete this top-of-the-dance-world staff.

For most students, summertime means resting, relaxing, and taking a break from the work they know awaits them in the fall.  However, these aspiring young dancers chose instead to completely immerse themselves in the world of dance that they love so much, in the hopes of improving their skills and gaining considerable knowledge.

After so much work, these talented dancers will be showcasing excerpts of La Bayadere, the beautiful and romantic ballet set to the music of Minkus, choreographed by legendary Marius Petipa. This ballet tells the story of the Bayadère, Nikiya, and the warrior Solor, who have sworn eternal fidelity to one another. Other characters compose the story such as Gamzatti and Brahmin. Jealousy, betrayal and tragedy are part of the story as well as a vision of the famous Kingdom of Shades that the corps of dancers in the program will be performing, along with variations and other dances from the passionate ballet.

These dances are of a very high difficulty that only these students with the guidance of such an incredible staff of Ballet Mistresses and Masters will be able to perform.

The culmination of this Summer Intensive Program is an exciting performance to be held at the brand new, state-of-the-art Aventura Arts and Cultural Center.  Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida has the honor of being the first group to perform in the center, which opened just this past month and it is already scheduled to present its professional productions of the upcoming season at this beautiful venue.

These future stars of the classical ballet will be also performing character, flamenco and modern pieces.  This is an incredible opportunity to witness the Russian style of ballet at its best, so mark your calendar for July 30th, at 7:00 PM, tickets $15.
