The Wynwood Business Improvement District (BID) is transforming a central block of NW 3rd Avenue into Wynwood Street Park, a new community-focused space designed to encourage outdoor connection and relaxation. Every Sunday in March—March 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29—neighbors and visitors are invited to enjoy the car-free zone from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Wynwood Street Park will feature shade tents, seating, tables, and board games, creating a simple yet inviting environment to slow down and engage. Attendees are encouraged to bring personal activities such as books, picnics, musical instruments, or sports gear. Select Sundays may include acoustic music or live art, but the emphasis remains on minimalism and natural community interaction.
William Kelley, Executive Director of Wynwood BID, emphasizes the initiative’s purpose: to explore what it means to be a public space, offering a welcoming area for residents to unwind, connect, and enjoy the outdoors in this vibrant neighborhood. The BID plans to assess whether this similar recurring event could become a permanent feature, enriching Wynwood’s community fabric.
Supported by the Miami Parking Authority and Goldman Properties, Wynwood Street Park aims to turn an industrial neighborhood into a more hospitable and lively urban oasis. The free, open-to-all initiative promises a relaxed alternative to Wynwood’s usual energy—an opportunity to pause, play, and linger.
Location: NW 3rd Ave between NW 26th and 27th Streets, Miami, FL. For more details, visit Wynwoodmiami.com or follow @wynwoodmiami.
