The best Modern World Music returns to the open air amphitheater at North Beach Bandshell.   “Best Concert Series” – you know it!

“Bomba Estereo’s music hit me like a wave. The only thing I could do was ride along with it. There was no point in resisting the band’s infectious groove, Colombian cumbia and champeta rhythms reside at the root, layered underneath psychedelic and surf guitar, keyboards, dancehall vocals and dub bass.” — NPR (hear the complete feature here)

Orquestra Contemporanea de Olinda: From music-crazed Northeast Brazil, comes a band of Pernambuco’s top young musicians, carrying forward the legacy of the late musical genius Chico Science – a groove-filled fusion of frevo and forro with Afrobeat, dub, rock and world rhythms. The Som Livre recording artists make their US debut tour this spring.
