Jason Scheff, longtime lead vocalist for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members, Chicago, is ready to declare Here I Am, on his second solo release available today! The project is produced by Jay DeMarcus, member of country music supergroup, Rascal Flatts and also features background vocals by Bill Champlin who was with Chicago for over 25 years.

The 10-song project features new material as well as songs made popular by Scheff and Chicago, including “Will You Still Love Me,” “Here I Am,” “Look Away,” “What Kind of Man Would I Be?,” and many more.
The recording, and current tour (Tribute to the Beatles White Album Tour with Todd Rundgren, Christopher Cross, Micky Dolenz and Joey Molland) marks Scheff’s return to music  and the stage after experiencing some family trials including the death of his stepson, Clark James Gable – the grandson of film icon, Clark Gable.
“Getting back in the studio to create new music along with singing a few beloved songs was very therapeutic for me and we had a blast,” says Scheff. “And to make music with my buddy Jay DeMarcus and all the incredibly talented people he assembled, was the best part of this journey. I am excited for all the fans to hear this music.”
One may wonder how one of the greatest voices in rock and roll and a member of a country supergroup met and formed a friendship that lead to making music together. DeMarcus comments: “I met Jason in the summer of 2002 after Rascal Flatts played the Washington State Fair. Chicago was scheduled to perform the night after us, so I left our Melt CD for Jason along with a letter explaining what an influence the band – and in particular he – had been on me. Within the next few days he called me, and we’ve been close ever since.”
The project, released on BassLine Productions / The Fuel Music, is available now. Autographed copies are available at www.JasonScheff.com, as well as being available through digital outlets here.
