Miami Design District in collaboration with Ground Control Miami and Placeholder present “Vollsonar for Infinite Edges,” a live musical performance by FSIK HUVNX and Richard Vergez.
As part of the programming for ALL THAT IS SOLID, Ground Control Miami and Placeholder have invited musicians into a space usually dedicated to the visual arts with the intention of cultivating the relationship between architecture, design, sound, and performance while creating a platform for discourse within the community.
“Vollsonar for Infinite Edges” is a sound work recorded by FSIK HUVNX for bowed guitar and dancers in collaboration with a site-specific dance performance held on August 15, 2019 at Paradise Plaza by Second Tunnel Movement. The music that once filled the open space at the plaza with waves of sound in relation to the surrounding environment and shapes in Yona Friedman’s public sculpture, will now fill the gallery space at S/223 for a new conversation with the works featured in the exhibition, ALL THAT IS SOLID. FSIK HUVNX will recreate a variation of the original recording for this live performance with Richard Vergez.
