Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra Brings Music From 5,000 Years of Civilization Into A New Experience at Adrienne Arsht Center

unnamed-97

After sold-out shows around the world this past season, Shen Yun Performing Arts returns this fall with an extraordinary new musical experience. The company’s Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra will play at the Adrienne Arsht Center on October 15th in a performance combining the exquisite beauty of Chinese melodies with the grandeur of a Western symphony orchestra.
Delivering a breakthrough in the world of music, the Shen Yun Orchestra presents a refreshing new sound, with traditional Chinese instruments like the two-string erhu and plucked pipa leading the melody amid Western brass, woodwinds, and strings.

Accentuating the beauty of ancient Chinese instruments amidst the grandeur of a Western symphony, the Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra draws on cherished ancient melodies and delightful musical styles to create a brand new, yet wonderfully familiar, experience.

Shen Yun’s all-original compositions are inspired by China’s 5,000 years of civilization. Featuring soul-stirring melodies from different dynasties, ethnicities, and eras, they breathe new life into themes and musical styles from ancient times to present day. This year’s program includes audience favorites from Shen Yun’s world-renowned productions, vocal and instrumental solos, and celebrated classics from the West.

Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra will perform one concert at the Adrienne Arsht Center on October 15 as part of its 2015 annual tour. Other stops this fall will include Carnegie Hall, Washington’s Kennedy Center, and eight other celebrated halls in North America.
