On Thursday, August 13th, Miamians enjoyed a free DWNTWN “Meet Your Neighbors” community block party to celebrate the exterior lighting of downtown Miami’s iconic One Flagler building, which was originally designed in 1952 by famed architect Morris Lapidus. One Flagler’s “Light the Night” event, hosted by Newgard Development Group, was sponsored in part by the Miami Downtown Development Authority’s (DDA) Property Improvement Program administered by the Downtown Miami Partnership (DMP).

Guests enjoyed live music by Elastic Bond, as well as food and refreshments from dozens of local downtown restaurants, including Whole Foods, Steak Brasil and Eccolo Pops. The redevelopment of One Flagler office condo is a joint venture between Miami-based real estate developer Newgard Development Group and Midgard Management Company, which have invested $10 million in upgrades to the building’s offices and common areas.
