In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, this year’s event will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, at the JW Marriott Marquis in Downtown Miami.

“We are excited to host another successful event, to ensure children battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases can receive the treatment and care they need,” said Jeb Bush Jr., chair of FOSJ Miami. “Thanks to our partners and South Florida’s ongoing support, Friends of St. Jude has raised more than $600,000.00 to help ensure no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude for their treatment, travel, housing or food.”

The event will feature a vast menu with delicious cuisine and cocktails courtesy of Diageo, as well as music by DJ Pete Diaz. This year’s hosts include Telemundo’s very own, Jorge Bernal, known as “Mr. Check it Out,” and Fusion’s Nando Vila, co-host of “The Soccer Gods.” The evening’s enticing live auction will be conducted by Ashley Morrison from Miami’s local FOX 7 news station and Keith Jones from NBC 6.

“I’ve had the pleasure to witness first-hand, the great work that St. Jude does for their patients and their families,” said Silvia Trinidad, from International Dermatology Research.  “I am wholeheartedly committed to St. Jude and their tireless work in the advancements of cancer research and treatment for the children.”

This evening, St. Jude will also be presenting the “St. Jude Stephan Gutierrez Award” to Andrés Asion for his philanthropic and humanitarian efforts.

“In many cases, St. Jude is the last hope for children suffering from cancer, who have previously not responded well to standard treatments. Many doctors send their toughest cases to St. Jude, as the hospital has the world’s best survival rates for the most aggressive childhood cancers,” said Andrés Asion. “St. Jude is at the forefront of developing new treatment options that are then shared freely with hospitals around the world.”

International Dermatology will serve as the event’s title sponsor for the eighth consecutive year.
