6th ANNUAL SALON DES REFUSES EXHIBTION

The Department of Art and Art History, in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at UM presents the 6th Annual Salon des Refuses exhibition. The Salon des Refusés is named after the celebrated Salon des Refusés exhibition of 1863, in Paris, in which the Impressionists exhibited their revolutionary new paintings that had been “refused” by the French Academy. The Art Department will showcase the work of students who entered the Annual Juried Student Competition and were not accepted.

In celebration of the event there will be an opening reception on Friday, April 1st at 5pm along with the department’s annual BBQ.

Salon des Refuses will be on view at the CAS Gallery from April 1st to April 29th at the CAS Gallery located at Wesley Foundation Building at 1210 Stanford Drive, on the Coral Gables campus.

Opening reception for the Juried Student Exhibition at the Lowe Art Museum will take place on Friday, April 15th; awards for the show will be announced immediately after the lecture.
