This year’s lineup of entertainment for the 29th Annual Seafood Festival is sure to keep everybody rockin’ with 38 Special, Atlanta Rhythm Section and Rick Derringer headlining the weekend’s schedule of live entertainment.
After more than three decades together, 38 SPECIAL continues to bring their signature blast of Southern Rock to over 100 cities a year. Well known in South Florida for their Southern Rock sound with hit songs like “Hold on Loosely”, “Caught Up in You”, “Second Chance” and “If I’d Been the One”, 38 Special promises a great Saturday night show.
Opening for 38 Special on Saturday evening will be guitar great, Rick Derringer. Known for his hit “Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo,” Derringer has played with such greats as Johnny and Edgar Winter, Cyndi Lauper, Alice Cooper and Steely Dan.
Sunday will feature southern music legends, Atlanta Rhythm Section sometimes abbreviated ARS who will fill the seaside stage with sounds of such hits as “Champagne Jam”, “So Into You”, “Imaginary Lover”, “Angel”, “Do It Or Die”, “Neon Nites”, “Doraville” and a cover version of the Classics IV hit “Spooky.”
The Pompano Beach Seafood Festival is three days of seaside fun with plenty of live entertainment, arts and crafts, local food, hot sun, cold drinks and of course, the seafood that South Florida is known for.
“We are super excited about being down on the new Pompano Beach and can’t wait to jam out with everyone,” said event producer John Good. “There will be good talent playing all over the festival.”
“Visitors who have not seen the newly completed renovations to the beachfront are in for a treat’” said Festival Manager John Good. “The area surrounding the Pier is beautiful. We have three strong national acts and a great lineup of local musicians at four different locations. We have redesigned the food court with every imaginable type of seafood (and plenty to offer non-seafood eaters as well). Our Boardwalk Bazar craft area is always very popular and we have a bigger kids (and Adult) area with more fun and games than ever. It’s going to be our best year ever.”
Other musicians at this year’s event include: Fourth Dimension, Never Stop Believing, Ploomie, Brass Evolution, Jacob Jeffries Band, Retro Radio, Two Can Blue, Across the Universe, Jimmy Stowe and the Stowaways, and The Bulldogs.
