2013 BE A KID AGAIN GALA AT MIAMI CHILDREN’S MUSEUM

On Saturday, April 6th at 6:30 PM, the Miami Children’s Museum (MCM), located at                980 MacArthur Causeway will host its much anticipated 2013 Be A Kid Again Gala. This year’s theme, the Blues Brothers’ “We’re on a Mission” will celebrate exceptional educational programming and showcase a far out live auction hosted by popular celebrities Dave Barry and Paul Castronovo. The night will also feature a one of a kind Silent Auction. Guests will groove the night away to a spectacular multimedia stage production by Jake and Elwood Blues Revue, the complete Blues Brothers ™ tribute.

Considered by many to be the most fun event of the South Florida Social Season, Miami Children’s Museum’s Be A Kid Again Gala features exceptional live entertainment, luxurious auctions and a culinary experience unlike any other. Premier Sponsors for the event are Alan Potamkin and Brigett Rok and the Fairholme Foundation.  Presenting Sponsors are Jeff and Yolanda Berkowitz, Coastal Construction Group and the Miami Marlins/David Samson.  The event is chaired by Mike and Chris Weinberg.

Guests will feel like a kid again from the moment they enter the Museum. The night kicks off with a not to be missed cocktail reception inside the Museum’s galleries filled with an extensive silent auction, featuring a wine section with exclusive lots from all over the world.  The main events of the evening, the energetic live auction featuring items that include a portrait by Romero Britto, an automotive lease from the Collection and Limited edition Girard-Perregaux, iconic FOReverglades luxury timepiece from their new Hawk collection, culminating with the spectacular performance by Jake and Elwood Blues Revue, the complete Blues Brothers ™ tribute will have you bidding and dancing the night away.

And completing our dynamic Blues Brothers themed extravaganza is a taste tempting array of treats that bring to life all the iconic Chicagoland locations from the movie.  Chow down at Aretha Franklin’s Soul Café! Get a Musical food transfusion at Ray Charles’ Music Exchange!  “Play Ball” with the food at Wrigley Field! All this and much, much more!
