18TH ANNUAL 9 MILE MUSIC FESTIVAL

18TH ANNUAL 9 MILE MUSIC FESTIVAL (FORMERLY THE CARIBBEAN FESTIVAL)

Bob Marley Movement presents the 18th Annual 9 Mile Music Festival and Food Drive on Saturday, March 12th, 2011 at Bayfront Park, 301 N. Biscayne Blvd. in Downtown Miami, FL.  Gates open at 1PM.

The Annual 9 Mile Music Festival is not only an all day experience honoring the life and legend that is, Bob Marley, but also a humanitarian food drive for those who would otherwise go without. This year in the spirit of giving, canned food collected at the Festival will benefit Curley’s House.  The organization’s mission is to improve the quality of life for low-to-moderate income individuals and families, the elderly, youth-at-risk, the abused, and HIV/AIDS infected members of the community by providing them with bulk food product.  Since the festival began, it has helped to collect over two million cans of food which in turn help to spread Bob Marley’s message of peace, love and unity.

This year’s Festival will feature performances by some of the top musical acts in the world as well as popular local performers: Stephen “Ragga” Marley; Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley; Julian “JuJu” Marley; Ky-Mani Marley, Slightly Stoopid, Thievery Corporation, Major Lazer, Inner Circle, Kevens, Benjah, Fourth Dimension, DJ Hatcha, Mala of Digital Mystik, Juan Basshead and MC Jumanji. The event is hosted by Michael Winslow star of the Police Academy movies, Lance-O of Kulcha Shok Muzik and Vanessa James. Also, Special Guest appearance by Gramps Morgan.
