Viva Don King World Class Boxing at Hard Rock Live

Don-King-096-569x377Prior to staging a series of boxing promotions at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Don King hosted a life celebration. The biggest spectacle in boxing history and the famous promoter behind some of the world’s best heavyweight boxers was celebrated by supporters and friends. In honor of Don King’s 80th Year, friends of The King lamented on the impact he had on their lives over the years, and his contributions behind the scenes.

Celebrity friends, family and guests honored the World’s Greatest Boxing Promoter during a tribute party on Friday, June 22. Live entertainment was provided by Eddie Levert, lead singer of The O’Jays; Chris Grant, dancer from the late Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” tour; Treana Cannon, R&B/Hip-Hop singing sensation; and Black Violin, two classically trained violinists accompanied by a hip-hop mixing DJ.

Many are familiar with the spiked hair promoter behind heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson and early career fighter the great Muhammad Ali. The eccentric promoter who is known to thrill millions does more than boxing. He is involved in various charitable organizations including a charity of his own, the Don King Foundation which supports the efforts of the less fortunate for many years.

His dedication to philanthropy has earned him an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from the New York College in New York for his humanitarian efforts. Yes, it is Dr. Don King.
