Miami’s Only Romance Film Festival “Romance In A Can”

The “Romance In A Can” film festival will unveil more than 20 independent European romance films from countries like France, Spain, Serbia and Germany.

The film festival will run from April 29 to May 9, with its opening night at Tower Theater in Miami featuring the premier of French film “Rien de Personnel,” by Mathias Gokalp.

On May 5th, European film students and local film students from Miami Beach Senior High School will compete during a short film competition judged by critically acclaimed director, David Frankel, credited with such hits as “The Devil Wears Prada,” and “Marley and Me” at the high school’s auditorium.

Among the films participating in this year’s festival are “7 minutes,” “Mujer Invisible,” “El Angel del Accordeon,” (Spain), “Here and There,” (Serbia) and “Nothing Personal” (France.)

The films will be screened at Tower Theater, The Miami Beach Convention Center, FIU’s auditorium, The Miami Beach Cinematheque and The Alliance Françoise of Miami.

Background on “Romance in a Can”

“Romance In A Can” was created by Isabelle Lambert, a scriptwriter and producer who previously worked with several European movie production companies. The film festival, presented by Red Chemistry, a not-for-profit organization, and Miami Dade College, promotes independent European filmmakers and helps raise funds for local youth art programs.
