Relive the 2014 Academy Award® winning film, Whiplash, starring Miles Teller and JK Simmons, written and directed by Damien Chazelle, in a mesmerizing live concert experience at the Adrienne Arsht Center’s Knight Concert Hall on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 7:30PM.  The film Whiplash tells the story of an ambitious young drummer studying at an elite music conservatory.  Whiplash In Concert features a screening of the film while an 18-piece jazz big band, conducted by composer JustinHurwitz and featuring drummer Greyson Nekrutman, performs the score.  Tickets are $69 $89, and $129 (including all fees) and will be available at ArshtCenter.org starting on Friday, December 5 at 12:00PM.

The Whiplash score was composed by Justin Hurwitz, who graduated from Harvard University, where he studied music composition and orchestration.  He has composed the music for all of Damien Chazelle’s films including WHIPLASH, LA LA LAND, FIRST MAN, and BABYLON, earning two Academy Awards®, four Golden Globes®, three Critics’ Choice Awards®, two GRAMMY Awards®, and a BAFTA®.
