Visionaries Co-Host Louis Vuitton Reception

The recently established Wolfsonian Visionaries group co-hosted its first event on June 3—the inaugural Salon de Louis Vuitton, a cultural experience inspired by the intimate salons held in France during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The event was held at the Louis Vuitton Bal Harbour store in honor of renowned artist Teresita Fernández, and benefitted The Wolfsonian. An exhibition of the artist’s work was on display in the store for one night only. Fernández, a Brooklyn-based artist and Miami native, called The Wolfsonian “a truly exceptional institution.”

The members of the Visionaries are a dynamic group of community leaders established to contribute to the museum’s activities by providing both ideas and feedback in terms of programming and fundraising. Future Visionaries activities are still being developed and suggestions by group members are encouraged. Committees have been formed to brainstorm ideas for: the opening of the upcoming Speed Limits exhibition, the fundraiser for the museum’s fifteenth anniversary, The Wolfsonian’s Art Basel project, and an evening with prominent international designers.

The Visionaries is currently open to new members, who should be active museum members at the Popular ($50) level or above. Visionaries members are requested to contribute $150 annually to the group. The meetings are the second Monday of each month at The Wolfsonian from 6 – 8pm.
