Still absorbing the flurry of accolades that resulted from Jungle Safari, Wellington’s popular Diabetes Research Institute (DRI) benefit chaired by Ashley and Joe Maguire in 2008, the dedicated committee is planning a second unique event in support of the cure-focused work of the DRI. At the helm this year are Terri and Carmine Priore III, who are pleased to announce that Vintages will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at the International Polo Club Palm Beach.
“Vintages is going to be a great event supporting a great cause. It will have something for everyone with elements of various vintage concepts and items,” explained Carmine. “You will not want to miss it!”
Sure to be one of the most memorable events of the area’s famed equestrian season, the evening affair is working to showcase vintage cars, fashion, wines, art, movies and more, while also featuring dinner, dancing, and silent and live auctions. Thanks to this group’s dare-to-be-different attitude, thrilling surprises are also inevitable.
The Priores have various personal connections to diabetes through friends, and they became passionately supportive of the cause while taking a tour of the Diabetes Research Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
“Our visit to DRI in Miami was incredible,” Terri said. “It was so exciting to see how the research and technology is advancing, allowing new opportunities to be explored and discovered.”
The Vintages planning committee, whose core members include Karen and Bob Cavanagh, as well as the Priores and the Maguires, is working full-steam ahead to garner event sponsorships. If your family or business is interested in supporting this cause through this fantastic affair, please call the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation at 800-321-3437 or e-mail info@drif.org.
