
Renowned collector and patron, Jorge Pérez (founder of the PAMM: Pérez Art Museum) announced the opening of El Espacio 23 (also known as Space 23), which, in addition to being the new home of his art collection, will be dedicated to favoring the city’s cultural and artistic ecosystem. Space 23 is an extension of PAMM.
Space 23 is located in a warehouse space of 28,000 square feet in Allapatah, one of the Miami’s emerging neighborhoods. It will offer artists, curators and the general public regular exhibitions, residences and a wide range of special projects.

‘Time for Change: Art and Social Unrest in the Jorge M. Pérez Collection’
Designed by the Colombian curator José Roca with Patricia M. Hanna and Anelys Alvárez, directors of the Pérez Collection, the exhibition brings together almost 100 works by more than 80 artists from around the world.
The inaugural exhibition explores the conflicts and contradictions of contemporary society through art and analyzes historical events and frames them in the present, with a special interest in the marginal and the margins of history and society.
Among the artists whose work will be present at that exhibition are Michelangelo Pistoletto, Doris Salcedo, Fernando Bryce, Ai Weiwei, Sandra Gamarra, William Kentridge, Barthelemy Toguo, Eugenio Dittborn, Alfredo Jaar, Claudia Coca and Eduoard Duval Carrie.
