THE SPACE RACE — World Premiere

National Geographic Documentary Films has once again outdone themselves with their latest release, “The Space Race.” Directed by Lisa Cortés and Diego Hurtado de Mendoza, the documentary takes viewers on a journey through the history of the United States’ efforts to explore space, featuring interviews with astronauts Ed Dwight, Guion Bluford, Charles Bolden, and Victor Glover.

From the earliest days of the Space Race, when the Soviet Union launched Sputnik and spurred America’s mission to put a man on the moon, to the present day, when advances in technology have opened up new possibilities for exploration, “The Space Race” is a fascinating, informative, and visually stunning look at the history of space travel.

Perhaps most impressive about the documentary is the way it delves into the personal stories of the astronauts who made history. Through their own words and experiences, viewers gain a deeper understanding of the human side of space travel – the risks, the sacrifices, and the triumphs.

It’s always inspiring to see filmmakers who are committed to telling important stories in an engaging and impactful way. “The Space Race” is a testament to the power of documentary film to educate, enlighten, and inspire us to reach for the stars.
