The Resident Acting Company Debuts A Midsummer Night’s Dream Off-Broadway

The Resident Acting Company (RAC) launches its inaugural fully-staged production with William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, running October 11 – November 2 at the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture in NYC. The official opening night is Wednesday, October 15, at 7 PM. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.com.

Featuring a cast including Austin Pendleton, Rachel Botchan, and others, the production is directed by RAC’s Artistic Director Bradford Cover. This fresh take on a classic features actors who take on multiple roles—from lovers to fairies—blending humor, gender-bending, and playful reinterpretations to highlight the timelessness of the play.

Founded in 2018 after Pearl Theatre’s closure, RAC emphasizes ensemble-based classical theatre. A Midsummer Night’s Dream marks their first full production, aiming to inspire new perspectives on Shakespeare’s comedy through a clown-inspired lens.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream plays a three-week engagement, October 11 – November 2, Off-Broadway at the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture in the Frank Shiner Theatre (18 Bleecker Street, NYC.).

For preview performances, through October 14, tickets are $15 (no fees). For regular performances, starting October 15, tickets are $25.00 (with fees, $28.52).

Performances are Tuesday – Saturday at 7PM, with 2PM matinees on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets can be purchased at Eventbrite.com or by calling the box office at 917-864-5095.
