Sankofa Jazz Concert celebrates the legacy and global impact of American jazz

A dynamic concert tracing the evolution of jazz featuring the Jason Marsalis Quartet with Vanisha Gould, Mustafa on Sax, and Trio de Janeiro with Magela Herrera.

The Marshall L. Davis Sr. African Heritage Cultural Arts Center proudly presents the 11th Annual Sankofa Jazz Concert on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Center’s Wendell A. Narcisse Performing Arts Theater. This signature event celebrates musical innovation and honors jazz’s enduring legacy and profound influence on American culture.

Sankofa Jazz has become a highly anticipated cultural highlight in Miami, bringing together leading jazz musicians who blend traditional and contemporary sounds. This year’s lineup features the Jason Marsalis Quartet with Vanisha Gould, Mustafa on Sax, and Trio de Janeiro featuring Magela Herrera. The evening will also spotlight emerging talent with a performance by the John Marquis Trio.
