Renowned artist Roxana Frontini invited art enthusiasts and visitors at Art Basel Miami to experience “EVOLVED,” an innovative performing installation that examined the theme of human transformation through the shedding of outdated ideas. The immersive installation took place from December 4-8 at the LA CUISINE APPLIANCES showroom in Miami’s Design District, featuring live sculpting sessions and interactive art pieces.

Drawing inspiration from diverse cultural symbols, particularly the Egyptian spiral, Frontini depicted transformation as a cyclical journey reflective of life’s fundamental processes. She integrated hand-painted GAGGENAU ovens into the installation, using them as metaphors for the refining processes that echo personal evolution. “Just as food undergoes transformation in an oven, so do our beliefs and perspectives, which must be ‘burned’ away to allow for growth and deeper understanding,” Frontini explained.

The artist’s bold color palette—mainly black and white, accented with coral and gold—highlighted alchemical connections between fire and creation. Each meticulously designed piece encouraged visitors to reflect on their own journeys toward transformation. Among the captivating artworks were:

– The Floating Spiral: Symbolizing life and renewal, this piece mirrors DNA’s continuous refinement.
– The Ovens: Representing the transformative journey of food, paralleling the evolution of beliefs through life experiences.
– MAAT: A live-sculpted painting made from couture fabrics, embodying the principles of the ancient Egyptian goddess of truth and cosmic order.

Additionally, a meditative video accompanied by original music composed by Frontini added depth to the experience. Guests were invited to participate in live sculpting sessions daily from 5 PM to 7 PM throughout the exhibition.
