In the recently revamped “Robert Irvine Live” stage show, the seasoned, celebrated, no-nonsense chef takes his signature culinary sensibilities to a whole new level, resulting in a high energy, interactive, multimedia and multi-sensory theatrical experience. This is not a coking demo, scripted event, or “sit down for the entire show” performance. “Robert Irvine Live” takes the idea of a cooking show into a completely new realm, where only the live audience on that night will experience the fun and laughter that took place. Keeping Chef Irvine on his toes, audience members spin a digital wheel to customize the culinary challenge Chef Irvine will embark on, live. The wheel will determine everything from time limits to ingredients and the challenge itself. Depending on the challenges Chef Irvine faces, up to 30 audience members may be called onstage to participate. Tweets and posts on Facebook collected prior to the show are also incorporated into the performance – whether its questions, challenges, or just something funny. Additionally, all new, never-before-seen video content produced specifically for this show gives fans a deeper insight from the chef, including interview footage of Robert retelling experiences from his military service, working for the Royal Family, his shows on Food Network, and his charity work.
With more than 25 years in the culinary profession, Chef Irvine has cooked his way through Europe, the Far East, the Caribbean and the Americas, in hotels and on the high seas. Irvine brings his experience to The Food Network as host of “Restaurant: Impossible” and has been previously seen on “Dinner: Impossible”, “Worst Cooks in America”, and “The Next Iron Chef”. A native of England, Chef Irvine joined the British Royal Navy at the age of 15 and his skills in the kitchen soon came to the attention of his superiors. As part of his service for the Royal Navy, Chef Irvine was selected to work on board the Royal Yacht Britannia where the Royal Family and their entourages regularly dined. During his time training U.S. Navy chefs as part of a guest chef program, Chef Irvine worked in the White House kitchens and his creations were served to high-ranking government officials. During his career, he has also had the opportunity to serve 6,000 servicemen and women on a U.S. aircraft carrier and plan the menu for a celebrity-studded after-party at the Academy Awards. Chef Irvine is the author of two cookbooks, “Mission: Cook!” (Harper Collins, 2007) and “Impossible to Easy” (Harper Collins, 2010).
