Rhapsody in Blue at the Adrienne Arsht Center

New World Symphony returns to the Adrienne Arsht Center this January with an evening of jazz works for orchestra that will keep the holiday magic going into the new year.

Experience Rhapsody in Blue as you’ve never heard it before. Joined by a full orchestra, the Marcus Roberts jazz trio transforms George Gershwin’s masterpiece through skillful improvisation.

Conductor Andrew Grams leads New World Symphony in Duke Ellington’s swinging, jazz reinterpretation of The Nutcracker Suite. The evening includes Ellington’s groundbreaking symphony Black Brown and Beige, a reclamation of Black history that Wynton Marsalis says “sits alone in the history of jazz.”
