Progressive rock giants Deep Purple come to Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at 7 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 23 at 10 a.m. Fans will have access to presale tickets beginning May 22 at 10 a.m. through Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood’s Facebook, Twitter and Google+ pages.

 

Once credited in the 1975 Guinness Book of World Records as “the globe’s loudest band” for a 1972 concert at London’s Rainbow Theatre, Deep Purple has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide and continues to garner an ever-increasing fan base with its 27 compilation albums, 15 videos and at least 34 live albums.

 

In 1968, the band released their debut album Shades of Deep Purple, spawning the international chart topping single “Hush.” Their holy grail of Deep Purple in Rock (1970), Machine Head (1972) and Made In Japan (1972) catapulted Deep Purple to the top in concert grosses and album sales around the world. The band’s catalogue of hits includes “Strange Kind of Woman,” “Woman from Tokyo,” “River Deep – Mountain High,” “Black Night,” “Might Just Take Your Life” and “Knocking at Your Back Door.”Gibson.com credits Smoke on the Water with one of the most recognizable guitar riffs in the world, describing it as “…quite simply, the holy chords of rock.”

 

Current band members include singer Ian Gillan, original drummer Ian Paice, bassist Roger Glover, keyboardist Don Airey and guitarist Steve Morse.

 

Deep Purple has released four studio albums since 1996 including their most recent album, Now What?!, their 19th studio album, released in 2013.
