ParkPro, a national provider of commercial truck parking solutions, has appointed Alabama Motor Express (AMX) as its flagship carrier to combat the U.S. truck parking shortage this holiday season. AMX is the first freight company to secure guaranteed hourly parking through ParkPro’s platform, which connects commercial drivers with pre-vetted parking spaces at large retail and entertainment venues.
Tra Williams, CEO of ParkPro, emphasized the importance of linking those who need parking with available spaces, noting that there is currently only one parking space for every 11 trucks on the road. This partnership aims to enhance supply chain efficiency and improve safety for drivers.
According to the FMCSA, there are only 313,000 rest-stop parking spaces available nationwide for approximately 3.5 million trucks. While new parking infrastructure is being developed, ParkPro is utilizing existing locations to provide immediate solutions.
Nina Eiland, Executive Vice President of AMX, highlighted that partnering with ParkPro enhances driver well-being and operational efficiency during the busy holiday season. AMX drivers will begin reserving hourly parking at Amerant Bank Arena, the flagship host property offering hundreds of spaces.
Mike Prairie, Director of Sustainability & Transportation for the Florida Panthers, expressed enthusiasm for supporting truck drivers’ safety and well-being through this initiative. ParkPro plans to expand its offerings in 2025 by collaborating with major property groups across the U.S.
ParkPro is the only hourly truck parking reservation system in the nation that facilitates guaranteed spaces at large venues, addressing the critical shortage of quality parking for truckers. For more information, visit www.park.pro.
