Panel Discussion, Belkis Ayón, Printmaker

Saturday, November 23, explore all the Street Fair has to offer and join us from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, for our second panel discussion, Belkis Ayón, Printmaker. Also part of our MOAD Talks series, gallerist David Castillo will be joined by special guest, Shelley R. Langdale, Curator & Head of Modern Prints and Drawings at The National Gallery of Art.

Belkis Ayón is a bilingual monograph focusing on the life and work of the late printmaker that includes historical interviews with filmmaker Ines Anselmi and the late journalist Jaime Sarusky, providing insights into Ayón’s methods, style, and exploration of the Abakuá fraternal society in Cuba. Ayón’s words reveal the significance of the society’s origin story, iconography, and practices in shaping her own visual language.

Alongside these interviews, the book features full page plates showcasing notable works created by the artist.

Admission is included with your Miami Book Fair Street Fair ticket purchase.
