The invasion is coming to Miami and no one is safe from these Nuts! They are Miami’s own Emmy Award-winning comedy duo of Yamil Piedra and Johnny Trabanco… A Pair of Nuts! Yamil and Johnny have been performing together since 1998 where they met in college at Florida International University in Miami, FL. Selected as “Hot Comedy” for 2011 by Campus Activities Magazine, their work has garnered them critical acclaim and they have been featured on Comedy Central’s Tosh.0, Last Call with Carson Daly, BET, Discovery Channel, and VH1’s Money Hungry. They were the stars of the Spanish language sketch comedy show on MegaTV, El Vacilon, which earned them a Suncoast Emmy Award for writing. And thanks to their online videos which have been featured all over the internet, Yamil and Johnny have gained national as well as international fame.
“If you’ve seen us on the internet or television, it’s nothing compared to seeing us live,” says Trabanco.
Their live stage show is an award winning multimedia sketch comedy show that features hilarious sketches and off the wall short videos. Their style of comedy has been compared to a modern day Abbott & Costello, a throwback to old school comedy duos with a modern, edgy flair. One of the great things about Yamil and Johnny is their ability to transcend from their Hispanic heritage into a style of comedy that has a universal appeal.
