The 2025 Wellness in Music Survey by MusiCares®, the leading US music charity founded by the Recording Academy®, reveals a sobering picture of industry health. Amid widespread crises, including hurricanes, wildfires, economic instability, and rising costs, music professionals face increasing mental, physical, and financial challenges.
Key issues identified include elevated suicide risk, untreated health problems, financial stress, and harassment. Since 1989, MusiCares has provided over $136 million in assistance and 321,000 services, including $11.4 million in fire relief and nearly $1.5 million in disaster response this year alone.
The survey guides MusiCares’ expanding mental health, recovery, and financial support programs, offering crucial insights for the entire music industry to address urgent needs and improve industry well-being.
