The Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) E1 World Championship, the world’s first all-electric powerboating series, has announced that Miami will host the grand finale of its 2025 season. The highly anticipated E1 Miami GP, marking the series’ debut in North America, is set for November 2025 and will take place at Virginia Key, near the iconic Miami Marine Stadium.

The announcement was made during a star-studded event featuring Grammy Award-winning artist Marc Anthony, a co-owner of Team Miami powered by Magnus. Anthony joined E1 CEO Rodi Basso, President Alejandro Agag, and SeaBird Technologies founder Sophi Horne to celebrate the upcoming race.

In a significant partnership, PIF was named the presenting partner of the E1 Series. This collaboration is part of PIF’s E360 initiative, which aims to advance electric mobility and technological innovation while championing sustainability. The partnership connects E1 with other prominent racing series, including Formula E and Extreme E, to reshape the future of electric racing.

Miami is strategically chosen as a pivotal location for E1’s expansion, given its status as the largest recreational boating market in the U.S. and the backing of celebrity team owners like Anthony, Will Smith, Tom Brady, and Steve Aoki. The race not only promises exhilarating all-electric powerboat action but also aligns with E1’s commitment to protecting global coastal ecosystems.

Scheduled to take place at the historic Miami Marine Stadium— the first purpose-built facility for powerboat racing in the U.S.—the E1 Miami GP aims to revitalize the venue and support restoration efforts in its surroundings. Mayor Francis X. Suarez emphasized Miami’s role as a hub for innovation, expressing pride in hosting this groundbreaking championship.

“Miami has a rich history in both powerboating and marine innovation,” said Agag. “We’re excited to bring the future of waterborne racing to Floridians and demonstrate the power of electrification in this sport.”

With the E1 World Championship set to join other iconic venues like Monaco and Doha in 2025, the inaugural season champion, Team Brady, looks forward to competing alongside nine teams that include well-known figures from sports and entertainment.
