Miami Music Educator Among Finalists for 2025 Music Educator Award

The Recording Academy® and GRAMMY Museum® have announced ten outstanding music teachers as finalists for the prestigious 2025 Music Educator Award™, with Miami’s own Jennifer Jimenez representing South Miami Senior High School. This recognition highlights educators dedicated to making a lasting impact in music education across the United States.

Jimenez is among the selected finalists from cities spanning eight states, chosen from over 2,400 initial nominations. The award honors current U.S. music teachers who demonstrate exceptional commitment to advancing music education in their schools and communities. Nominations are open to anyone, including students, parents, and fellow educators.

The 2025 recipient will be revealed during GRAMMY® Week and will receive a $10,000 honorarium along with a matching grant for their school’s music program. The nine other finalists will each receive a $1,000 honorarium and matching grants, while 15 additional semifinalists will earn $500 honorariums and grants.

The Music Educator Award program is supported by The Chuck Lorre Family Foundation, alongside contributions from music education organizations such as the American Choral Directors Association and the National Association for Music Education.

As Miami’s vibrant music scene thrives, the recognition of local talent like Jimenez underscores the vital role of educators in nurturing the next generation of musicians. For more information on the Music Educator Award and to view all finalists, visit www.grammymusicteacher.com.
