Miami Film Festival GEMS Announces 2024 Lineup
The Miami Film Festival GEMS has unveiled its official lineup for this year’s event, scheduled from October 30 to November 3, 2024. Tickets are now on sale for over 30 films from around the globe, many of which are generating buzz ahead of the award season.
Highlights include the Opening Night film The Room Next Door, the English-language debut from Pedro Almodóvar, and the Centerpiece film The Brutalist, presented in 70mm. The biopic Maria, featuring Academy Award-winner Angelina Jolie as opera legend Maria Callas, is also a key attraction. Additional films include international submissions for Best Picture consideration, such as Brazil’s I’m Still Here, Canada’s Universal Language, Spain’s Saturn Return, France’s Emilia Pérez, and Germany’s The Seed of the Sacred Fig.
The festival will host discussions with notable talents including Sebastian Stan, Alfonso Cuarón, and Arianne Phillips, all of whom will receive the Precious Gem award. This year’s GEMS coincides with Halloween and Día de Muertos, promising a festive experience for attendees.
