Miami-Dade Public Library System hosts 2026 Local Author Book Fair

On Saturday, January 24, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Miami-Dade County Public Library System will present the 2026 Local Author Book Fair, a free annual event celebrating and supporting Miami-Dade County’s rich literary community, at the Main Library in downtown Miami.

Now larger than ever, the 2026 Local Author Book Fair expands beyond the Main Library’s interior spaces to include programming outdoors in the Miami-Dade Cultural Center Plaza and at the neighboring HistoryMiami Museum.

Attendees of all ages can meet and connect with more than 80 local and independent authors, enjoy author readings, live music and performances, and take photos with popular storybook characters – including Bad Kitty, Jasper Rabbit and Esteban the Magnificent – along with face painting, crafts and much more.

The fair will also feature informative publishing and creative development workshops, designed for local authors and aspiring writers, and open to all attendees.

Keynote author presentations and workshops include:

•    Thrillers, Kids Books and TV Shows with New York Times bestselling author Brad Meltzer
•    A Survival Story of Grit and Resilience with Zoo Miami’s Ron Magill and Miami Herald sports columnist Greg Cote
•    Demystifying the Publishing Process with Miami-based author Asha Elias
•    Where Do Ideas Come From? with children’s author Sita Singh
•    How to Create a Graphic Novel with Marvel and DC Comic Artist Ralph Cabrera
