Join Miami-Dade Parks’ EcoAdventures for its annual Vamos a Pescar Miami (Let’s Go Fishing Miami) on Sunday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Tropical Park, located at 7900 SW 40 Street. This free event invites families to rediscover the joys of fishing in a fun, outdoor environment.
Fishing poles will be available courtesy of vetinfo.org and Bass Pro Shop, but participants are encouraged to bring their own gear. The day will feature recreational and educational activities, including instruction on casting a line, tying knots, and fishing techniques, along with opportunities for wildlife viewing.
Attendees are advised to bring water or a refillable bottle, comfortable closed-toe shoes, insect repellent, and sunblock. Activities include fishing on the lake, interactive instructional sessions, information booths from community partners, and food trucks.
