Miami-Dade County Celebrates Completion of Haulover Park Marina and Boat Ramp Improvements

Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces (PROS) is proud to announce the completion of marina and boat ramp improvements at Haulover Park, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for Friday, January 9, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the Haulover Park Marina Boat Launch, located on the north end of Haulover Park. (15000 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach).

The completed project modernizes one of Miami-Dade County’s busiest public boating facilities and strengthens the marina’s resilience to tidal flooding and storm impacts, while improving safety, and access for boaters.

“Investments like this ensure our waterfront remains accessible to the public, and resilient to flooding,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “These improvements strengthen Haulover Park Marina’s ability to serve the community today while preparing for future conditions.”

Project improvements included elevating parking areas and access roads to reduce flood vulnerability, adding two additional docks to minimize congestion, replacing fixed docks with floating docks designed to adapt to changing water levels, the installation of vehicle charging stations, landscaping improvements, site restoration, as well as upgrading drainage, lighting, and signage. The approximately $13.8 million investment was funded through the Building Better Communities General Obligation Bond, Florida Inland Navigational District Grant, and Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department funding sources.

“Haulover Park Marina is a vital recreational and economic asset for our community, said District 4 Commissioner Micky Steinberg. “By investing in modern, resilient infrastructure, we are enhancing public access, improving safety, and protecting one of our most heavily used waterfront facilities from future flooding and storm impacts for years to come.”

These enhancements reflect Miami-Dade County’s continued commitment to investing in resilient waterfront infrastructure that supports recreation, economic activity, and long-term stewardship of public spaces.
