Miami-Dade County announces 2026 schedule for Home Chemical Drop-off Mobile Events

The Miami-Dade Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) has announced the 2026 schedule for its Home Chemical Drop-off Mobile Events taking place from February through November 2026.

These free events give Miami-Dade residents a safe and convenient way to dispose of household chemicals and other products that may be harmful to the environment if discarded improperly. They are offered in addition to the County’s two permanent Home Chemical Collection Centers.

New for 2026: Residents can also take advantage of free paper shredding services at all events.

Event Requirements:

  • Events are open to Miami-Dade County residents only.
  • Valid identification is required. Participants must present a Florida driver’s license or Florida identification card to verify Miami-Dade County residency.
  • Commercial or business waste will not be accepted.

Preparation Guidelines:

  • Place all containers upright in a sturdy box and ensure lids and caps are tightly sealed.
  • Leaking containers should be placed inside a larger container with absorbent material, such as newspaper.
  • All items must be properly labeled. If an original label is missing, clearly relabel the container with its contents or mark it as “UNKNOWN CHEMICALS.”

Event Dates:
Please note: All Home Chemical Drop-Off Mobile Events will be held on Saturdays.
