Into the Magic City

This winter program is the soul of the season, honoring where we began, celebrating who we are and dancing forward into what’s next. If Miami City Ballet had a birthday party, this would be it.

The evening opens with George Balanchine’s Serenade, a timeless masterpiece of sweeping beauty and emotional depth, followed by the exhilarating Tarantella, bursting with speed, joy and virtuosic flair.

At the heart of the program is a powerful world premiere by Alexei Ratmansky, created in honor of Miami City Ballet’s visionary founder, Toby Lerner Ansin. Roses From the South, Three Waltzes for Toby blends classical tradition with fresh creativity—a tribute and a celebration of legacy, artistry and Miami.
