Miami Beach is proud to introduce its new free water taxi service, connecting Miami Beach and Downtown Miami starting Tuesday, January 20, 2026. This scenic, sustainable shuttle offers a hassle-free alternative to driving, with a quick 20-minute ride that skips bridge delays and traffic.
The launch event begins at 7:30 AM at Maurice Gibb Memorial Park, adjacent to the docks at 18 Street & Purdy Avenue. Guests can be among the first to experience this innovative service, with remarks followed by the official start of operations. The event is free and open to the public.
The water taxi operates daily Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with boats running every hour in the morning and every 30 minutes during evening rush hours. Each vessel can carry up to 55 passengers, offering a relaxing and picturesque commute. Bikes and scooters are allowed onboard, and easy connections are available via the South Beach Trolley, Freebee, Miami-Dade Transit, and OMNI Station.
Stop locations include Maurice Gibb Memorial Park in Miami Beach and Venetian Marina & Yacht Club in Miami, with multiple parking options on both sides.
