“Beyond Sonorism” at Etra Fine Art: A Multi-Sensory Exploration of Art and Sound 🎶
Sunday, December 3rd, from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Etra Fine Art, a prominent art gallery known for its dedication to modern and contemporary styles, is set to present an extraordinary exhibition during Miami Art Week titled “Beyond Sonorism.” This immersive experience will blur the boundaries between visual art and music, inviting visitors to embark on a captivating sensory journey. The Opening Reception will take place on Sunday, December 3rd, from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Etra Fine Art located at 6942 NE 4th Ave, Miami, FL 33138.
Alicia Restrepo, the owner of Etra Fine Art, offers her vision for “Beyond Sonorism”: “My aim is to transcend traditional artistic boundaries and create a space where visual and auditory elements harmonize. By merging various art forms, we hope to provide new perspectives that provoke introspection and reflection on the interconnectedness of artistic mediums. Sound, as a fundamental element of our existence, becomes a catalyst for artistic expression.”
The exhibition will showcase a diverse group of artists, including Jacopo Ceccarelli, also known as 2501 from Italy, Betsy Stewart from Washington D.C., Claudia Hakim, Claudia Quacinella, and Andrea Dasha Reich from Colombia, Hugo Zapata, Juan Raul Hoyos, Lina Sinisterra, Ronny Vayda, and Titi Kerndt from Colombia, Roberto Milan from Italy, and Yigit Yazici from Turkey, among others. Their works, ranging from paintings to sculptures, will be beautifully presented alongside musical compositions by groundbreaking composers William Basinski and Philip Glass.
Guests will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the exhibition, contemplating the visual art while being enveloped in captivating, thought-provoking musical compositions. The convergence of plastic art, paintings, sculptures, and sonic elements will demonstrate the profound impact of sound on our perception of the world.
Etra Fine Art has recently relocated to Little Haiti (Little River Art District) after nearly a decade in the renowned Miami Design District and two years in Wynwood. This strategic move allows the gallery to connect artists and collectors from both the Americas and Europe. The gallery’s commitment to representing mid-career and established international artists who embrace modern and contemporary styles has made it a pillar in the Miami art scene.
In addition to exhibitions, Etra Fine Art collaborates with private collectors, corporations, and interior designers, offering its expertise in building art collections. Their comprehensive services include researching, locating, acquiring, and installing artwork that reflects progressive concepts while incorporating traditional and non-traditional materials.
Alicia Restrepo, the gallery owner, brings a wealth of experience to the art business. Having studied Economics before pursuing her passion for art, she co-owned one of the most influential galleries in Soho during the 1980s and 1990s. In the early 2000s, she relocated her business to Miami, where she continues to shape the city’s dynamic art landscape.
“Beyond Sonorism” promises to be an exceptional showcase of the interplay between art and sound, providing visitors with an extraordinary opportunity for contemplation and inspiration. Don’t miss this captivating exhibition that pushes the boundaries of traditional artistic expression.
