Miami International Airport is expecting a record-breaking 3.3 million passengers from December 19, 2025, to January 5, 2026, a 3% increase from last year. Key peak days are December 20, 26, 27, and January 2, 3, with over 190,000 travelers daily.
To ensure a hassle-free trip, MIA recommends the following:
Arrive Early: Arrive three hours before your flight for parking, check-in, and security. Do online check-in beforehand and check flight info via MIA’s website or app.
Parking: The new Ibis Garage opens December 19, offering 2,240 spaces, joining the Dolphin and Flamingo garages for a total of 10,500 parking spots—MIA’s largest ever. Also, discounted options are available at remote Economy Park and Ride lots, with Valet Parking across from check-in areas. The free Cell Phone Waiting Lot offers 60 spaces for non-commercial pickups.
TSA Tips: Since July 8, 2025, shoes stay on during security screening. Pack essentials in carry-on bags and follow the 3-1-1 liquids rule. Use MIA’s real-time checkpoint wait times for faster security.
International Travel: Ensure your passport has at least six months of validity beyond your travel dates. Use the free Mobile Passport Control app and request accessible lanes online 48 hours before arrival for passengers with disabilities.
Travel smart and enjoy a stress-free holiday season at MIA!
