Meet Anthony Garcia and James Brazil

Join us for a happy hour, networking and an up-close conversation regarding “Tactical Urbanism and Urban Prototyping” with authors Anthony Garica of Street Plans and James Brazil of Studio James Brazil. The Urbanism Summit functions as a multidisciplinary platform bringing together professionals, city governments, community stakeholders, and innovators tackling inefficiencies in urbanization. The summit’s main focus is innovative and educational activations bridging professional and stakeholder silos for a more collaborative and people-centric approach to urbanism.

Anthony Garcia is a Principal of Street Plans Collaborative, and leads the firm’s Miami office. Anthony is a nationally recognized architect, writer, speaker and advocate in the in the field of transit, pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure. Anthony is a coauthor of the globally acclaimed series Tactical Urbanism: Short-Term Action, Long-Term Change Vol. 1-4, and together with Mike Lydon is the recipient of the 2017 Seaside Prize and co-author of Tactical Urbanism, published by Island Press in March 2015. Tony was also awarded with the 2017-2018 CINTAS Foundation Fellowship for Architecture & Design.

James Brazil is an architecturally-trained, Australian designer, researcher and city curator of urban and public architecture. Based between Barcelona, Miami and Mexico City, James works as a Master Builder at the intersection of art, architecture, construction, technology, and landscape. Having gained extensive design + fabrication experience across a variety of high-profile award-winning architecture, urban and art installation projects in Australia, Europe Africa, North and South America in his professional and academic career.
