The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) Homeland Security Bureau (HSB) received intelligence regarding an organized ATV takeover event titled the “GVO 2026 Ride Out.” Social media posts confirmed the event was scheduled to take place from March 20 through March 22, 2026.
On Saturday, March 21, 2026, HSB led a proactive enforcement operation targeting ATV and dirt bike activity to mitigate large groups from forming and obstructing roadways throughout Miami-Dade County, thereby mitigating potential risks to public safety.
Multiple law enforcement agencies participated in this operation, including the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office North Operations districts, Aviation Support Unit and HQ Motors Unit, as well as Miami Police Department, Miami Gardens Police Department, Miami Beach Police Department, Miramar Police Department, Hollywood Police Department, Pembroke Pines Police Department, and the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
HSB established a command post composed of HSB Southeast Florida Fusion Center and Real-Time Operations Center personnel monitored police radio channels, available live camera feeds in areas of concern and social media activity. This intelligence was shared among all participating agencies throughout the operation to enhance public safety.
