May Mobility, a leader in autonomous driving technology, has unveiled a new corporate mobility service utilizing Toyota’s innovative e-Palette platform at the Toyota Motor Kyushu Co. (TMK) Miyata factory. This customized battery-electric vehicle aims to enhance transportation options for factory employees and guests, reflecting a significant step forward in the realm of mobility-as-a-service (MaaS).

The e-Palette, designed to be versatile and equipped for various passenger needs, will serve employees during regular business hours with a route featuring six designated stops within the facility. Each trip will commence from the southeast corner of the factory, wrapping around to ensure convenient access across the campus.

Edwin Olson, CEO of May Mobility, emphasized the partnership with Toyota as vital for advancing innovation in transportation accessibility. “Our long-standing relationship with Toyota is key to driving innovation within the mobility-as-a-service space,” he noted, expressing excitement about harnessing the larger electric vehicle form factor of the e-Palette.

This deployment marks the culmination of extensive testing and evaluation conducted by May Mobility, which integrated its proprietary autonomous driving technology into the e-Palette. The system utilizes real-time data from onboard sensors and advanced artificial intelligence to adapt and improve performance continuously, even in unfamiliar situations.

The initiative not only enhances operational efficiency at TMK but also signals the beginning of broader e-Palette applications across Japan. In collaboration with partners like MONET Technologies and NTT, May Mobility plans to expand these services, potentially bringing similar innovations to cities such as Miami, where the company has already successfully provided over 400,000 rides in deployments across the U.S. and Japan.

As the automotive landscape evolves, the launch of the e-Palette service at TMK demonstrates a commitment to redefining transportation, blending advanced technology with practical solutions for modern mobility needs.
