The Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation® partnered with Latin GRAMMY® and GRAMMY® winner Edgar Barrera, Luis Ángel “El Flaco,” and Oscar Maydon to host an educational event at Las Vegas High School and SLAM Nevada. The initiative included music performances, a Q&A, and a generous donation of instruments to support students’ musical development.
Las Vegas High School, the state’s oldest, and SLAM Nevada, a tuition-free K-12 charter, will each benefit from new instruments and programs designed to foster young talent, emphasizing the Foundation’s mission to nurture future Latin music creators.
Participants, including artists like Barrera, El Flaco, and Maydon, shared inspiring messages about passion, perseverance, and the importance of music education. The program is part of Latin GRAMMY In The Schools, which has impacted numerous cities in the U.S. and internationally, connecting students with industry professionals and supporting arts education crucial for future careers in Latin music.
